Looking for a fun night out in a current foodie hot spot? Try Onehunga’s Culinary Crawl, part of the Elemental AKL Festival.
Scheduled for Saturday 17 October, the Culinary Crawl is a progressive dinner involving some of Auckland’s hidden hospitality gems. Food fans will get to sample a drink and appetiser, entrée, main and dessert at four Onehunga establishments. Starting times range between 5.30pm to 7.45pm and each course will be served at 45-minute intervals. However, there's an element of mystery to the event: there are three different routes but guests will only know the starting point!
Participating venues will showcase a popular dish or drink they are well known for, so it's a fantastic way to sample what Onehunga has to offer. Onehunga Business Association Event Manager Angela Corbett explains that "each course will have a personal touch when owners or chefs share a story about the course they are serving and their business.”
Free street entertainment will be provided along Onehunga Mall, including a diverse line-up of music, cultural performances, and lighting displays.
Angela says “Onehunga has many fantastic eateries and bars, and the Culinary Crawl gives people a chance to experience some of these places which they may not otherwise have visited. With entertainment, light displays and a photo booth as part of the experience, visitors to Onehunga’s town centre are sure to have an excellent time.”
The Culinary Crawl is proudly bought to you by the Onehunga Business Association and the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board with support from Panuku Development, Onehunga Community Patrol and The 312 Hub.
