Is there anything better than devouring a bowl of plump, homegrown Kalamata olives with a glass of your favourite wine firmly in hand?
We love our olives here at Dish, with Telegraph Hill's delicious and now award-winning offerings a shared favourite come party season.
Recently recognised by the Auckland A&P show team as 'champions' in their field, Telegraph Hill have picked up the highest honour, receiving champion recognition both their Kalamata olives and Burnt Orange and Fennel olives.
“We’ve won awards in previous years for the olives in New Zealand and Australian competitions, but to get the champion award means this year's olives were the best in the show. That’s something the whole team are proud of,” says Telegraph Hill's Managing Director, Geoff Crawford.
“Kalamata olives are known for being the most popular eating olive in the world, so its satisfying that we can make champion olives here in New Zealand."
For olive-lovers who simply can't get enough of these delicious little morsels, Telegraph Hill are extending their offering that little bit further – offering Kiwis around the country the unique chance to adopt your very own olive tree, receiving all of its beautiful bounty as it grows quietly in the sunny Hawke’s Bay – with your name on it.
Twice a year, you'll receive a package with all your tree's delicious produce, delivered to your door. You'll enjoy all the delicious benefits that come with owning your own tree. You'll get to dunk your bread in your very own olive oil and eat olives plucked fresh from your very own tree.
What’s more, you can visit your tree as often as you like. Bring a picnic and your enjoy your little slice of Hawke's Bay heaven or whisper some encouraging words to encourage your tree to grow.
An olive tree makes a unique Christmas or wedding day gift – so consider your holiday gift list that little bit shorter.
