There's something a bit special going down at the picturesque Corbridge Estate this March 21st. Ripe – The Wānaka Wine & Food Festival 2021, is kicking off its inaugural event. Along with music and entertainment, there will be bountiful wine and food from more than 30 local producers, a cooking demonstration by Nadia Lim and a sunset concert by the Jordan Luck Band, featuring, of course, Jordan Luck of legendary Kiwi band, The Exponents.
Wānaka local and Otago Event Planning owner Nathan White spent lockdown putting the foundations of the event together, and says the area has been wanting an event that celebrates the taste of Central Otago for a while now.
“Ripe is about the passion and energy for the best wine and food of our region and our country – backed by a deep respect, appreciation and knowledge for the industry."
“Our producers have a deep connection to the land and a passion for the product, and we want to celebrate this while bringing a much-needed boost to the local economy,” he says.
Maude; Amisfield; Māori Point; Ceres; Mishas; and Akarua are among many of the Central Otago wineries that will be at the festival, supported by food from the likes of The Stoaker Room; Lipsky & Sons; Hook restaurant; plus beers from Wānaka brewery b.effect.
