The Food + Art Project
Food and art will collide in a delicious way at three very special dinners in Hastings.
Chef James Beck of award-winning Hastings restaurant Taste Cornucopia will collaborate with five artists to create three very special meals as part of Hawke’s Bay’s Food and Wine Classic (FAWC) Winter Series. The dinners will take place on Friday June 20th, Saturday June 21st and Saturday June 28th.
Each artist will produce a piece of art specifically for one of five courses. The menu created will both inspire, and be a response to the art. Each guest will also leave the meal with a unique memento of the experience.
The participating artists are DLT (Darryl Leigh Thomson), Linda Bruce, Jo Blogg, Jonathon Brown and Martin Poppelwell. Tickets are $110 per person.

Issue #115
Issue 115 is packed with inspiration for all kinds of cosy meals – whether you’re dining alone, as two or with a few. We start with our Plating Game interview with Jesse Mulligan which inspired a medley of curries and sides then move on to a round up of easy one-pan chicken dishes, a variety of pasta bakes and meatballs, and using one simple yet delicious tart base we whip up five fab filling options. Sarah’s wintry faves include a moreish chorizo (not) carbonara, lamb and spinach filo pie and we finish off with sweet treats and decadent puds. We love seeing what you create, don’t forget to share your dish dishes with our Facebook community. When it comes to winter cooking, make it SIMPLY YUM!
