Top honour for hospitality identity
Jackie Grant of Auckland’s hospitality powerhouse Hip Group has been honoured by her old school, Diocesan, as this year’s sole recipient of its Alumna Merita award.
Traditionally, the ceremony recognizes Old Girls who have achieved high standards in their chosen fields and are exceptional role models for current students. Jackie was recognized for her outstanding contribution to Auckland’s café scene.
Jackie and partner Scott Brown own Hip Group, which includes popular eateries Richmond Rd Café, Takapuna Beach Café, dessert restaurant Milse, Ortolana and their new venture Provenance in Waimauku.
Jackie attended the Alumnae ceremony at Diocesan School earlier this week.
She and partner Scott are keen to inspire the younger generation to pursue careers in hospitality by employing them in one of their eleven eateries, and also run their own professional development program for those with career aspirations.
To read more about Jackie and Scott and their new projects at Provenance see the feature in the new April-May issue of Dish.
