From the limestone and clay soils of Omihi in North Canterbury comes a Chardonnay that quietly overdelivers on every level.
Deliverance 2023 Chardonnay is crafted by one of New Zealand’s most respected winemakers, from a Top 20 winery, under a bespoke export label now being retired. With shifting global markets creating unexpected opportunities, this wine has found its way back home - and into the spotlight - at a remarkable $15.99 a bottle.
The pedigree here is undeniable. Made by the same family and winemaker behind the acclaimed Limestone Creek wines, this is a Chardonnay that rewards a closer look. We’re unable to reveal the winery or winemaker, but a quick Google of the name on the back label when it arrives will confirm it’s true pedigree.
Handpicked from mature, low-cropping vines, the fruit is gently pressed and fermented in large French oak barrels, before spending six months on oak. The result is a wine of real depth and texture, striking a confident balance between fruit purity and subtle oak influence. The palate is silky and generous. In the glass, expect notes of white peach, nectarine and lemon zest, layered with hints of toasted almond and brioche. It’s a style that’s already winning fans, with customer reviews praising both its drinkability and exceptional value.

The wine’s silky texture and gentle oak influence make it a natural partner for food. Ripe stone fruit and citrus lift flavours, while hints of toasted almond and brioche work well with creamy sauces, roasted meats and buttery seafood. Its balance of freshness and richness means it complements a wide range of dishes without overpowering them.
Try pairing it with the recipes below to see how well it brings these flavours together:
Creamy Chicken and Parmesan Linguine
Blistered Tomatoes and Olives with Prawns and Oregano
Rib-eye Steak with Pickle and Mustard Butter
Scandi Salmon with Quick Pickled Cucumber
Whether shared with friends or savoured at home, this is a Chardonnay that overdelivers on both quality and value. Available now from Fine Wine Delivery at a special price of $15.99 per bottle.
