Selaks Origins Tells the Story of Making Great Tasting Wines

Inspired by the regions that produced them, the Selaks Origins range offers a true taste of New Zealand and Australia's most beloved wine regions.
Your Origins matters. For over 85 years Selaks Wines have been devoted to making delicious wines to be enjoyed by Kiwis for every occasion. Marino Selak arrived from Croatia in 1906 and noticed there were a few things missing when he arrived in New Zealand, notably, it seemed that wine was in seriously short supply. So he decided to make his own and 1934 saw the first vintage of Selaks and the beginning of what has become a NZ icon.
Today, Selaks winemakers continue to craft wines that not only taste great but make shopping Selaks wines easy and enjoyable. Buying wine can be a confusing experience, with 100’s of brands, speaking in wine terms that can be confusing. The beautifully designed new Selaks Origins range celebrates the way the regions in which the grapes are grown influence and shape the flavours you know and love in each varietal. From a tropical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, to Berry fruits Hawke's Bay rosé and Jammy South Australian Shiraz, it’s all about taste. Influences range from climate, temperature and terroir, with each region bringing distinct flavour to the grapes they produce. The result is easy-drinking, classic wines, bursting with flavour.
Selaks Winemaker, Brett Fullerton, who has been part of the Selaks extended family for 30 years shared his thoughts on Selaks Origins – “This collection showcases the taste of each region and varietal, it's crafted for the modern palate while paying homage to Selaks’ winemaking tradition."
As one of New Zealand’s earliest wineries, Selaks is steeped in tradition and expertise, coupled with a thirst for wine making excellence that has been passed down through many generations.
Their wines are drawn from vineyards across New Zealand and Australia that are known for their ability to produce wines with character. Brett and their winemaking team have carefully blended each of their varietals to showcase the influence of the regions, “The winemaking team is committed to producing consistently elegant wines that reflect our heritage, while still appealing to today’s wine consumer and their taste.”
