Dress for Success Auckland celebrates 25 years of empowering Kiwi women in need

Dress for Success Auckland (DfSA) has served more than 24,500 Kiwi women through its work readiness, hardship and resilience programmes, providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools. DfSA will mark its 25^th anniversary with a Gala Event at AUT on Saturday 22nd June.

Guests can enjoy a special “Empower Her Exhibition” featuring fashion collections from across the last quarter century, the history and key milestones of DfSA, client stories, an auction and a runway show showcasing former clients of DfSA alongside professional models. There will be presentations from key DFS speakers and partners, complimentary drinks and canapes and goody bags packed with products from key sponsors Vanish, Benefit, CACI, Edible Blooms and Fashion Quarterly to take home. 

Tickets are available via Eventfinda with all proceeds going towards helping DfSA to continue its great work. The organisation and its 89 active volunteers, some of whom have been with DfSA since its inception, help to assist anyone who identifies as a woman at her point of need - through all manner of support, from helping with CV’s, one on one coaching, job interviews to clothing for court appearances and housing appointments.

Twenty-five years is a huge achievement, says Robyn Moore, Executive Manager Dress for Success Auckland. “It would not have been possible to come this far without the support of our amazing network of people, our volunteers, our sponsors, donors, staff and our incredible clients. We cannot thank them enough for their contributions over the years.”

Rachel Bainbridge, Head of Brand & Trade Marketing for Vanish - a long-term partner of Dress for Success and platinum sponsor for the Gala event - acknowledges the charity’s significant tenure and its importance in helping women in need. “Finding work and keeping it is not easy, especially at these times. We need organisations like Dress for Success supporting Kiwi women to thrive, in work and in life. Vanish is really proud to be playing a part in helping to sustain this service.”

Vanish partnered with Dress for Success New Zealand in 2021 and has donated a total of $452,744.42 to support Dress for Success’ work as well as sponsorship, marketing support, products and gift bags for various Dress for Success events including the 25th anniversary gala event.
