The Miele Chef's Table Series

The popular dinner series is back, this time with Ortolana's Jo Pearson.
From seasonal gourmet fare at Ortolana to award-winning gelato at Takapuna Beach Cafe, the Hipgroup's executive chef Jo Pearson knows how to create a delicious menu.
As part of The Miele Chef's Table Series, Jo will impart her expert advice with an hour-long cooking demonstration, and discuss her philosophy for using only the freshest, most sustainably and locally produced ingredients. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a three-course meal around one table – a chance to get up close and personal with the chef herself.
Coming from a family of market gardeners and orchardists, Jo was always destined to build a career in the food industry. Several years in the UK and Europe gave her a passion for the cuisine and culture unique to that part of the world, an experience that strongly shapes Jo’s food philosophy today. Her return to New Zealand saw her join the Hipgroup, and help set up Auckland's much-loved Takapuna Beach Cafe, the Hipgroup’s gelato and bakery, and many other cafes and restaurants including Ortolana.
