Te Matuku Oyster Festival

At the Te Matuku Oyster Festival you'll experience some of the freshest, most delicious oysters in the country, perfectly matched to local wine and beer.
Te Matuku’s Pacific oysters, highly prized by oyster lovers from all over New Zealand, are farmed in the crystal clear waters of a Waiheke marine reserve. On Saturday the 5th of November, they'll be shucked at the Waiheke Oyster Festival, ready for cooking in a variety of ways, or eating while perfectly fresh.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be demonstrations from well-known chefs including Martin Bosley and Julie Biuso as well as live bands to enjoy.
With its Waiheke location it's no surprise that there will be plenty beautiful wine matches, plus craft beer from Waiheke’s own Alibi Brewing Company from Tantalus Estate. A delightful array of gourmet morsels from Waiheke’s artisan food providers will be on offer – there's sure to be something for everyone.
It's super simple to take a day-trip to Waiheke for the Te Matuku Oyster Festival – an $80 Fullers Festival Package includes festival, ferry and bus tickets.
Or, you can simply buy a $45 festival ticket which includes your first three oysters, a festival glass and a wine or beer.
