OM Goodness Bread Rises to the Gluten-Free Challenge

It took 10 years of experimentation for OM Goodness to perfect their unique gluten-free bread recipe, and now Kiwis everywhere who suffer from coeliac’s disease and gluten intolerances are enjoying its delicious and nutritious benefits.
This week (June 7th through the 14th) is Coeliac Awareness week. It’s aim is to help educate the public and remove stigmas around coeliac disease and gluten intolerance. What makes gluten such a problem for those who suffer from intolerances is that it’s a naturally occurring group of proteins and is found in so many of the foods that we eat every day like traditional breads, which gives them that chewy texture, as well as other wheat-based products. But it can also be found in processed meats, salad dressings, sauces, and even candy bars and gummy snacks.
Those with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease can have mild to severe symptoms, which greatly impacts their daily lives. Even consuming traces of gluten with a meal can have an effect. OM Goodness Specialty Breads is devoted to providing options for people who can’t tolerate gluten, without compromising on taste, texture or versatility. OM Goodness products are gluten-free, vegan, organic, paleo and refined-sugar free but they are universally loved by everyone regardless of their dietary restrictions.

OM Goodness bread is a Kiwi made recipe, which the creator developed at home as a safe option for his eldest daughter. With no decent options available at the supermarket, the goal was to create a loaf that provided complete nutrition while also retaining a soft, spongy and moist texture perfect for both toast and sandwiches.
OMG’s baked goods are unique in the world of gluten-free breads because they’re organic stone-ground buckwheat based. Buckwheat is loaded with good stuff like iron and magnesium and is naturally gluten-free. To achieve the amazing texture of OM Goodness products, they pack the mix with activated chia seeds, which are high in protein and fiber, as well as linseeds, which are loaded with omega-3’s. Tapioca flour and kelp powder round out the list of superfood ingredients, contributing calcium, iron, folate, and vitamin K1. Kelp powder alone contains over 70 minerals and trace elements! These ingredients make up the base of all OMG products.

OMG have a delicious range of loaves to suit all tastes including:
Sunflower & Sesame
Sourdough with Rosemary
Date & Orange
Manuka Honey & Walnut (*non vegan)
Apricot, Raisin & Poppy Seed
Roast Pumpkin & Fennel.
You can also choose from a collection of premixes for bread, crackers, pizza bases and even a pancake/baking mix to make at home. You can rest easy knowing that OM Goodness (@omgoodnessbread) bakes everything in dedicated gluten-free environments.
If you’re after a fabulous gluten-free meal, Goodness Bistro (@goodnessbritomart) in Auckland’s Britomart station provides amazing options for dine-in or take away. Don’t forget to pick up a few OMG baked goods while you’re there!
