Celebrated chef Peter Gordon is uniting top chefs for an exclusive fine dining charity night in a bid to raise funds for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand
Skycity Dining for a Difference will have a star studded line up of chefs brought together by Peter Gordon himself and will feature some of our favourites from Australia and New Zealand such as Al Brown, Josh Barlow, Nic Watt, and Kasey and Karena Bird.
The event which will see 300 guests presented with a four-course menu and matching wines, is the brainchild of Gordon who has raised $1.25 million for the cause since 2007. The most intriguing aspect is you don’t know who will be creating your dishes until the night with a draw revealing which chef will be cooking for which table. This unusual approach allows each chef to showcase a unique menu to their guests who can also take part in an exclusive auction with the opportunity to win a memorable evening with Gordon himself as he cooks dinner at the winner’s home.
This is a cause close to Gordon’s heart. His sister was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 1994 but following a bone marrow transplant, using Gordon’s marrow, she now leads a healthy life. “To be able to hold this event, with the support of so many talented chefs who give their time generously, is such an honour. We’re all here with one main goal in mind - to help fight blood cancer,” says Peter.
The profits raised through Skycity Dining for a Difference will go to Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand, the national organisation that helps patients and families with blood cancers – leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related conditions.
If you want to get to this exclusive event which takes place on October 13th, tickets are extremely limited so you better get in quick. They’re pricey too at $400+GST a pop but we think the cause is well worth the splurge.
