Being that it's a nip too cold to sit outside in the evenings, we are grateful for St John’s Bar & Restaurant's cute and cosy solution: igloos.
Where: 5 Cable Street, Te Aro, Wellington
When: 24 July - 13 September
From Friday 24th of July, windswept Wellingtonians can step in out of the cold into their own private, cosy igloo at St John's restaurant.
The 'St John's Winter Igloo Village' is offering a package for groups of 2-6 an igloo for 2 hours at a time with food and drink included for $49 per person. There are mid-afternoon sessions and dinner bookings 7 days a week and take home blankets are also available for $5.
The options of cocktails on arrival are mouthwateringly wintry: there's Mulled wine, Kiwi Mojito, Blood Orange Delight, Winter Colada, Smoked Bacon Old Fashioned, and Cherry Hazelnut Meringue... And the food is similarly hearty and warming with grazing boards, grilled sirloin, roast root vegetable salad and churros, among other things.
Plus what's not to love about drinks in an igloo?
*The igloos pictured are not located at St John's
