Tomorrow's Lunch - Little Jimmy, Auckland

With a focus on fresh, local and seasonal fare to share with friends, simplicity is key at Little Jimmy, and it's going down a treat with the whole neighbourhood.
Considering this all-day eatery has been bustling since it opened last month, the verdict seems to be Little Jimmy is a welcome addition to Epsom.
A casual counterpart to its brother restaurant, One Tree Grill, the eatery offers only New Zealand produce, sourcing ingredients from smaller, local businesses whenever possible.
We visited for lunch, opting for the Seared Akaroa Salmon and a Roast Chicken Salad from a menu filled with many simple yet tempting lunch options. Served on a bed of farro and topped with garden herbs, the salmon was incredibly tasty – I downed every last bite. Filled with beetroot, feta, thyme and rocket, my friend announced her salad was delicious, and satisfying enough to see her through the afternoon. We couldn't resist dessert either, and shared a lovely rich, dark chocolate tart.
Had we visited wanting something a little more comforting, their Smoked Venison Meatball Sub might have made its way to our plates. Equally tempting are their sourdough pizzas, topped with beautiful combinations of seasonal ingredients. A morning visit is definitely in order to try one of their baked breakfasts (with eggs, smoked lamb sausage, spicy tomatoes and butterbeans), as is an after-work drop-by for a sharing board and a glass of New Zealand wine or cold craft beer (Hallertau, Garage Project and Panhead all appear on their list).
