Free Fine Dining in the Snow!
This year, Uber marks 10 years in Aotearoa and to celebrate they are offering a world-first experience in Queenstown.
For the end of the snowy season, Uber is swapping the Prius for a snowcat as their most loyal customers, Uber One members, can hop on the Uber Eats app and book an iconic Southern Alps experience.
Bringing together the best of rides and eats in the area, those lucky enough to secure a spot, will snowcat to ski Mount Cardrona’s backcountry and also savour the best in local cuisine at the highest altitude fine dining degustation lunch in the country.
The bookable experiences will be exclusive to 20 guests per day for three consecutive weekends including - Saturday August 24, Sunday August 31 and Saturday September 6. And the kicker? Once live on the app at 12pm (20th August 2024), this limited time experience will be listed at $0.00, as the epic team over at Uber want to say thanks to their loyal Kiwi users.

The Skiing/Snowboarding
Known as ‘New Zealand’s best kept secret’, Soho Basin is a private backcountry snow experience adjacent to the popular Cardrona Alpine Resort. Overlooking the spectacular scenery of the Wakatipu Basin and beyond to the peaks of the Main Divide, Soho offers an awe-inspiring ski day for those with intermediate to advanced abilities. There will be a team of guides all the way, introducing you to the best lines and snow and assisting you through the challenging terrain.
The Food
Who would we be if we didn’t talk about the food on offer? And luckily for us, there’s a lot to unpack here. To break up a big day on the slopes, you will meet mid-mountain in a gorgeous hut to experience an Alpine tasting lunch by Amisfield’s award winning Executive Chef, Vaughan Mabee. Your helmets can be popped aside for an hour or two as you sit amongst the ranges, cosy up with a blanket and tuck in to an impressive degustation delight with Amisfield wines and a range of beers and other beverages to match.
And once your legs are ready to give after returning to the slopes, après ski drinks and snacks are served to close out the special day.
There are 80 spots to be filled, and we couldn’t recommend the experience enough, so make sure you’re signed up as an Uber One member and ready to book from 12:00pm TODAY (20th August 2024).
*Note that due to the difficulty of the slope at Soho Basin, this is only suitable for those with intermediate-expert level experience in skiing/snowboarding.
