Waiheke Wine & Food Festival 2017
Escape the mainland for a flavoursome weekend of Waiheke's best culinary offerings.
Waiheke Island is a verified hot bed of world-class vineyards, eateries and breathtaking vistas.
It is little wonder, then, that Waiheke calls for its very own Wine & Food Festival, a week-long dedication to the island's best local producers, artisans and culinary masters.
To cap off a week of all things foodie, the island will play host to locals and visitors alike on Saturday, April 1, boasting an impressive line-up of producers and eateries that includes Awaroa, The Batch Winery, Cable Bay, Frenchman's Hill Estate, Goldie Wines, Kennedy Point, Man O' War, Miro, Mudbrick, Obsidian, Passage Rock, Peacock Sky, Postage Stamp, Stonyridge, Tantalus Estate, Te Motu Vineyard, Wild on Waiheke and Woodside Hill.
For those with an appetite for stellar local cuisine, Festival Day will showcase a number of artisanal food vendors, including Urban Escargot, South American Oven, Langos, Babickas Table, Little Island Gelato, Timmy Smith Herbal Teas, Timbuktu Delicatessen, Rangihoua Estate Olive Oil, Jenny’s Chutneys, Marg’s Pates and Ruby’s Coffee Cart.
In the lead up to the main event, punters will be offered the chance to secure tickets to a range of food and wine masterclasses from some of the island's most sought-after estates and vineyards.
With country music sensation Tami Neilson, Kiwi music veteran Peter Urlich and the Swingin' Sextet, Aaron Carpenter and The Revelators, Rikki Morris and Chet O' Connell all scheduled to perform throughout the day on April 1, be sure to get in quick and secure your tickets to this unmissable showcase of fine wine, great food and stellar entertainment.
On Festival Day, punters will receive a souvenir wine glass on arrival, before tasting wines from 18 participating vineyards on-site at Te Motu Vineyard.
Buses will run between Matiatia Wharf and Te Motu Vineyard. Adult tickets, valued at $94, include the ferry, bus, a wine glass, lanyard, festival flyer and a glass of wine on arrival. On-island tickets are also available for $64.
Children's tickets are available for $40, with on-island tickets available for $25.
