When it comes to cooking the perfect meal, you simply can’t beat the power of gas. Whether you’re a master chef in your own home or a professional, gas takes the cooking experience to the next level.

Why we love cooking with gas

The team at dish love cooking with gas because it provides a powerful punch of heat while offering optimum control. Dial it up or dial it down to instantly adjust the temperature to your liking - for the perfectionist in the kitchen who demands absolute precision, gas is simply the only way to cook.

Why chefs choose gas

Just like dish, chefs everywhere prefer cooking with gas stoves because of their efficiency – the open flame heats the pan quicker and more evenly compared to an electric or induction stove, getting dinner on the table faster for hungry guests to enjoy. Gas ovens are also strongly preferred to electric ovens because they have a wider range of temperatures, which allows chefs to bake delicate desserts without the risk of burning, overcooking or undercooking them.

The future of gas

Gas is on a journey to green up as the industry explores a transition to lower carbon, and eventually zero carbon gases. And in the meantime, there’s plenty of gas in New Zealand to supply Kiwi homes and restaurants.
