Drop of the Day - Taylors Wines Jaraman Range
Australia's iconic wine regions provide great diversity. And with the Jaraman range, Taylors Wines have sought parcels of extraordinary fruit to craft wines that showcase their distinctive regional characteristics and style.
The Jaraman range are wines by design, where skill and a deft touch is required, often using and ingenious approach such as cross regional blending from wine regions such as McLaren Vale, Clare Valley or the Coonawarra.
The winemakers at Taylors ensure that the distinct regional characteristics are preserved and enhanced with the fruit as the star and any winemaking influence the supporting act. The result are wines that are complex without complication, each delivering layer upon layer of texture and flavour with every sip.
The Jaraman Shiraz 2019 is a luscious wine with layers of flavours of dark berry fruit, ripe cherries and plum along with attractive oak characters of roasted coffee beans and spice. Overall, the wine is well balanced with well-integrated tannins providing the palate with firm structure and persistent length.
This wine makes a flavourful pairing with our Lamb, Oregano and Fennel Seed Meatballs. The rich tomato sauce and herbs are a perfect complement to the dark berry fruits.
The Jaraman Grenache 2020 on the other hand is a new release, and is a lighter style red wine with juicy red fruit flavours of raspberry and strawberry along with hints of cinnamon spice. Lingering fine tannins provide a sensation almost akin to spicy dried ginger on the back palate. The finish is both graceful and delectable.
A hearty braise or slow-cooked meal like our Prosciutto-wrapped Pork Scotch Fillet would make great company at the dinner table with this wine.
