A foodie's guide to St Jerome's Laneway Festival
Auckland's St Jerome's Laneway Festival is boasting more than just a stellar Indie music line-up. Here's your comprehensive guide to this year's best festival fare.
If you're heading along to Auckland's St Jerome's Laneway Festival on Anniversary Day, you're in for a nice surprise.
This year, the famed Indie music festival will receive a well-earned update, with twice as many food vendors, craft beer and wine producers on site and on hand, serving up delicious festival fare. With pockets of shade scattered throughout the inner-city park, those heading along to make a day of it will be spoiled for choice once lunch time rolls around.
From the city's favourite food trucks to the new kids on the block, you'd be wise to head along to Albert Park Precinct with an appetite:
1. The Bearded Clam
A fan favourite, The Bearded Clam will be back on site serving hungry music lovers at Laneway 2017. Boasting smashed pattie cheeseburgers and finger-licking good French fries, there's a reason why this famed local food truck has garnered such a loyal local following.
2. Wise Boys
Brand spanking new to Auckland's thriving food truck community, Wise Boys are turning heads with their seriously good vege burgers. In keeping with their sustainable ethos and rich, plant-based menu, Wise Boys will have the vegetarian crowd well and truly catered for come Anniversary Day.
3. Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar
Catering for the sweet tooths among us, Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar are back on board. Oozing with chocolate and deliciously chewy, sometimes all you need is a sweet pick-me-up to pep you up for an afternoon of live music.
4. Serial Griller
Adding to the festival's already impressive burger offerings are Whitianga husband and wife duo Dave and Keren. What started as a solution to the lack of juicy American-style burgers on offer here at home, these grill masters have since garnered a reputable following for their prime beef smash burgers.
5. The Rolling Pin
Dumpling lovers will be pleased to hear that The Rolling Pin will be parked up and open for business during Laneway Festival. Boasting "masterfully-made" hand-crafted dumplings and an impressive vegetarian and vegan menu, consider The Rolling Pin your go-to for a quick and easy bite on the go.
