Mother Earth sustainable packaging

Learn about Mother Earth's new, more  sustainable packaging and their ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Mother Earth’s delicious nut range is now more sustainable with 20% less plastic packaging – that’s 20% better than yesterday! The new 20% less plastic packaging is being rolled out in supermarkets nationwide now and the change will result in a saving of 9 tonnes of plastic per year. That’s equivalent to 346,000 traditional plastic drink bottles – enough to create a 74km-long line, and a huge step in the right direction for a cleaner New Zealand.

Mother Earth’s 20% less plastic packs are also recyclable through the NZ Soft Plastics Recycling programme – just take them into a participating store around New Zealand.*

The Mother Earth nut range

Thanks to a team of experts who have years of experience sourcing nuts and nurturing relationships with growers and suppliers around the world, Mother Earth offers a nutritious selection of the highest quality, freshest nuts.

The Kiwi brand’s nut range includes 22 delicious products to suit all snacking occasions including classics like Roasted & Salted Cashews, moreish mixes and flavoured nuts like Chilli & Lime Cashews. We love the new Deluxe Mixed Nuts with Blueberry & Macadamia.

Mother Earth supports sustainability

Mother Earth has long been a proud supporter of the Love NZ Soft Plastics programme, and supports other sustainability initiatives too, including Enviroschools and Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari. The Waikato company is currently supporting Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari to help make a new home for the endangered kākāpō at the ecological reserve.

As well, Mother Earth is also helping to restore native forests across New Zealand and has helped plant two million Mānuka trees and counting, as part of the brand’s commitment to caring for the environment and reducing their carbon footprint.
