L'affare Wellington Ready to Welcome Back Customers with Fresh Look
The countdown is on until L’affare Wellington open the doors to their College Street café once again.
The quietest time in our Nation’s Capital for most cafés is the early New Year period. Knowing this, the team at L’affare, long-time collaborator Auckland-based Evolve Design, and Wellington’s awesome build team CJ Ryan Limited, picked this as the moment to stage the latest iteration of the café’s 32-year evolution.
The cafe received more than just a lick of paint back in February 2018 (also designed and built by Leslie and the Evolve team) - enhancing the room’s already warm and somewhat moody décor with an expanded dining room and new front counter, fresh roasted coffee bean-store, and luxury coffee equipment showroom.
Curious passers-by, who have been peeking in for the last month at the goings-on inside No. 27, will be pleased to know the café will reopen in mid-February - with a few exciting upgrades: a long-anticipated kitchen (and bathroom) facelift. Think: big, brand-spanking new kitchen layout with a considered design to allow Chef Joh van Kekem and his team to produce top-notch dishes and fresh cabinet treats at the pace L’affare’s customers have grown to expect. All to be served swiftly by Café Manager Hamish Stewart and his friendly front-of-house crew.
The entire L’affare team are excited about the refreshed digs and are looking forward to welcoming customers back with open arms – so keep an eye on their social channels for updates and pop in to see them soon.
